Microforce-based
characterization services

Send us your microscopic samples. We define the right test, perform the measurements with our calibrated sensors and deliver a complete report — publication-ready mechanical data to support your research or R&D decisions.

What we characterize for you

Custom characterization studies, performed with our microforce sensors, for the samples that standard instruments cannot measure properly.

Microscopic samples3D-printed microstructures (2PP), microbeams, micropillars, soft or fragile micro-objects
Custom test definitionBending, compression, indentation, cycling — matched to your geometry and your question
Force-displacement measurementSI-traceable curves, documented experimental conditions
Stiffness and modulus extractionStiffness and Young's modulus derived from curves and geometry
Viscoelastic behaviorCreep, relaxation, hysteresis — when relevant for your material
Repeatability and comparisonDispersion across samples, comparison between fabrication parameters

Our method

A rigorous process, from the first contact to the delivery of results.

1

Technical call

You describe your sample and your objective. Together we assess feasibility and define the exact scope of the study: test type, number of samples, expected quantities.

2

Protocol definition

Choice of sensor (force range, stiffness), contact strategy (tip geometry, contact point) and measurement protocol matched to your geometry and material.

3

Measurements on our stations

You send us your samples. We perform the measurements with our calibrated, SI-traceable SensiTips® sensors under controlled, fully documented conditions. Resolution down to the nanonewton.

4

Report + debrief meeting

You receive a complete report with curves, processed results and data. A debrief meeting is included to help you interpret the results and decide on next steps.

What you receive

All the technical material you need to support your innovation.

PDF measurement reportStructured, exploitable, shareable with your team or reviewers
Force-displacement curvesFor each test, with the associated conditions
Processed resultsStiffnesses, moduli, repeatability indicators depending on the study
Raw or exported dataWhen relevant for your own analysis
Microscope photosOptional, to document the sample and the contact
Experimental conditionsDocumented for reproducibility and publication
Uncertainty analysisOn request, for demanding metrological needs

Prepare your technical call

No heavy technical form to fill in. To make the call efficient, simply describe, even approximately:

Your sample dimensionsAn order of magnitude is enough
Available space and access constraintsSubstrate, microscope environment, recessed areas…
The expected force rangeOr the estimated stiffness, if you know it
The type of mechanical test neededBending, compression, indentation, cycling…
The objective of the characterizationPublication, process comparison, design validation…

Discuss your measurement challenge

A few lines are enough — we will get back to you quickly to set up a technical call.
